FUSELAGE Construction

After final welding is complete, all welds were thoroughly inspected, and the fuselage checked for trueness. I had a couple of distortions that required some heat to get back in line. It is amazing how much the thin walled tubing moves when heated. Next, the seats were welded in, as was an additional truss across the front cockpit. The tailspring mounting bracket was added. There are a lot of little bits and pieces that make up an airframe. The gear fitting were made up and located to the lower longerons. Critical alignment is necessary here, as these ftting also locate the lower wing attach point and the flying wires. Mis-alignment would also cause the gear to bind.
