These pictures show the forward gear fitting/flying wire attachment after forming around the gear truss. The second photo shows 'l' shaped doublers added at the recomendation of Hale Wallace. He mentioned that he added them to his aircraft, and some problems with heavy Skybolt's have occured at these fittings. My gear is built with plans dimension tubing-some people have gone up in tubing size on the gear. I plan on making only perfect, feather-soft landings. (Yeah, right.)
Next is a picture of one gear leg, after spltting it apart from it's mate and removal from the jig. The 2 pictures below show the reinforcing wrappers being formed to the gearleg.
